After 20 years in the Pharmacy refitting industry and understanding the pressure pharmacists find themselves under when they need to update their premises without disruption, we decided to develop a practical solution. Portapharma.UK was born out of necessity following a series of complex refits and was developed to eliminate downtime.
After careful planning and research we came up with our prototype which has now been in use on several projects and passed by GPC inspection. Portapharma.UK launched its first 6 meter portable unit at the NEC Pharmacy Show in 2016 and received glowing reviews .
Initially designed to assist with refits, we soon discovered the scope of this product. We now have a range of units to suit your needs, equipped for pharmacy, GP consultation rooms and secure document storage.

The Porta-Record Storage solution has been developed to quickly release space in GP premises with its combined service of transferring the patient’s records to a space efficient upgraded shipping container placed on the premises, with the added benefit of freeing up vital space within a practice for more consultation rooms and or better productive use of space.

With our strong, secure space saving exterior containers we can offer all the benefits from OFF site storage but keep, them ON site. Portapharma record storage units reduce costs of extracting records from poor or multiple site locations.
Our Porta record container uses the space saving Roller store mobile shelving units where up to 18,000 Lloyd George wallets can be store safely and efficiently in our secure, insulated, alarmed containers.
We use on ly certificated 1 use new containers which are fitted out to offer the safest and most secure storage space, our 20ft long product occupies less than 2 car parking spaces and is ideal for occasional land around the Premises.
Case studies have shown that consolidating the records can free up space for more treatment or consultation rooms lifting the revenue of the practice.
Portapharma.Uk use only certified 1 use shipping containers as the home of our solution. The containers are wind, weather and rodedent proof units coupled with our fully lined insulated interiors and flooring we can keep documents clean, safe and dry. The internal glass shop front offers a secondary secure barrier and maintains the internal temperature for all UK weather patterns; our containers have low energy LED ceiling lights and come fitted with a thermostatic controlled ceramic heater.
Porta record containers are available with a greater low carbon foot print by installing 12 volt low energy led lights powered by a small roof solar panel and storage battery as an optional to mains power supply. This low energy option allows for more location possibilities…
Security Our 1 trip containers are 2.5mm thick steel specifically built for inter-continental travel storage, strong and very secure the units are specified to ISO 6346 and have a 6 mm steel lock box which protects the pad lock. With a laminated internal shop front as a second security barrier these containers offer a high level of security. Our units can also be fitted with intruder alarms if required. Location and planning issues are dealt with by our skilled experienced team, we cover all the installation permissions required, impact statements on car parking and peoples access to ensure the project is safe , secure ready for instant use.
Installation Portapharma.Uk engineers will survey the area for the container, we will complete all the logistics including the delivery, placement, electrical connection and provide all the required HSE on site.
Recovered space… Case studies have shown that removal of the records from within the congested area will allow better use of the space and create new opportunities for more effective applications. In a recent consultation the removal of the records as shown has created room for our finished script retrieval system, offering an increase in storage with a quicker delivery process, delivering time efficiencies and cost savings to the practice and a better service for patients.
